Dr. Mark Sturm, O.D.

Dr. Sturm's focus is specialty contact lenses: scleral and other custom lenses for eyes that standard soft contacts and glasses aren't able to correct well. That includes keratoconus, corneas left irregular after RK or LASIK refractive surgery, and other post-refractive complications. Myopia management is another of his specialties, slowing the progression of nearsightedness in children. This type of specialty care has generally meant a drive to San Antonio. He also routinely manages medical eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.

Dr. Sturm is a graduate of Indiana University School of Optometry and has practiced in Central Texas since 2010, arriving by way of small-town Iowa and a desire to stop shoveling snow. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

He and his wife have three children. Most of his time outside the office is spent outdoors, or in the pool, or traveling.
